I have spent over 10 years working within a variety of organizations, including hospitals, clinics and the public school system providing services to children, youth, adults and families. I specialize in working with children, youth and families.
I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology at Wilfrid Laurier University, in Waterloo, Ontario. I obtained my Masters degree in Counselling Psychology at the University of Lethbridge, in Lethbridge, Alberta.
I am a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP), a member of Psychologists’ Association of Alberta (PAA), and the Canadian Association for Play Therapy (CAPT). I have completed additional training in play and art therapy and I am currently working toward my certification as a play therapist.
Therapeutic Approach
I believe that therapy is a safe space for individuals to be heard and explore their strengths while working to achieve positive change and reach their full potential. I see my role as a guide in the therapeutic process to assist individuals on the journey of self-discovery.
I believe all individuals come to therapy with their own unique perspectives, values, beliefs, and coping abilities. I use these experiences as well as current research in the field to draw from approaches that best match each client’s needs, strengths and goals for therapy. My therapeutic approaches include; play and art therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, solution-focused therapy, person-centered and family-systems.
